Israeli siege prevents burial of Palestinians in Khan Younis
SHOTLIST: KHAN YOUNIS, PALESTINE (JULY 11, 2025) (ANADOLU - ACCESS ALL) 1. BODIES BEING CARRIED ON BACK OF DONKEY CART 2. BODIES INSIDE MORGUE (TWO SHOTS) 3. PALESTINIANS CARRYING BODY 4. MORGUE ATTENDANT MUTI HASAN SPEAKING TO REPORTER (Arabic) 5. VARIOUS OF PALESTINIANS HOLDING FUNERAL PRAYER 6. PALESTINIANS CARRYING BODY AWAY 7. DEAD BODY LYING ON BACK OF VEHICLE 8. PALESTINIANS CLIMBING ON BACK OF VEHICLESCRIPT The bodies of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on Friday, July 11, could not be buried as Israeli forces reportedly besieged cemeteries in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip. Relatives who attempted to bury the dead were forced to return the bodies to the morgue at Nasser Hospital, as soldiers allegedly opened fire on those approaching burial grounds and damaged several graves. The incident underscores the growing challenges faced by residents amid ongoing hostilities in the region. Several Palestinians have been killed trying to get food in the enclave since the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation began operations in late May. Overall, Israel has killed nearly 57,800 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The relentless bombardment has destroyed the enclave and led to food shortages and the spread of diseases.
