Los Angeles, United States - July 25, 2025 07/25/2025 04:36 pm GMT-0700 CORONA, Calif. – On Friday at approximately 4:36 p.m., the Corona Fire Department, along with Cal Fire Riverside/Riverside County Fire Department, responded to a brush fire in the area north of Green River Road and Palisades Drive in Corona. Fire crews arrived and noticed a 2-acre wind-driven vegetation fire spreading to the east at a moderate rate. Shortly after the units arrived on the scene, the fire spread at a dangerous rate, posing an immediate threat to the structures. At that time, the fire jumped across Palisades Drive. Fire units were immediately requested for structure protection just off of Braemar Lane. Air support was called in to help the fire crews on the ground. Evacuations were ordered. According to Cal Fire Riverside PIO John Clingingsmith, Jr., the fire was at 75 acres with zero percent containment when he spoke to Key News Network on camera. The firefight continued throughout the night. No injuries were reported. On Saturday, the fire was declared to be 75% contained, and all evacuation warnings had been lifted. By Sunday late afternoon, the fire was 100% contained, according to Cal Fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
