The tsunami advisory, which was issued on July 29, led to the temporary closure of all commercial harbors across the islands. After a thorough assessment of the waterways, the Coast Guard Captain of the Port Honolulu authorized the reopening of all commercial harbors in the Hawaiian Islands. This swift action allowed maritime traffic to safely resume after the threat passed.
