Gaza - August 01, 2025 Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, conducted a field tour and strategic assessment in the Gaza Strip alongside top military commanders, including the head of Southern Command and division leaders from the Nahal, Givati, and 401st Brigades. During the visit, the Chief of Staff discussed recent operational gains, emphasizing that the IDF has achieved unprecedented results in dismantling Hamas infrastructure both above and below ground. He stated that Israel is nearing a decision point: if no agreement is reached for the partial release of hostages in the coming days, combat operations will resume without pause. Lt. Gen. Halevi also addressed growing international criticism, firmly rejecting accusations of deliberate starvation in Gaza and placing responsibility for civilian suffering on Hamas.
