Crayfish grabs bait but slips back into water in Mount Vernon, Indiana
On May 30, 2025, in Mount Vernon, Indiana, USA, @mallory_kuhn shared a video of a playful attempt at luring a crayfish. In the video, the crayfish is seen hiding in a water-filled hole as the author dangles a piece of meat tied to a plastic straw. The crayfish grabs the bait and clings on, but as the author tries to pull it out, it loses its grip and drops back into the water — with the bait landing nearby on the ground.
