Lahaina Wildfire – August 4, 2025
Almost two years after the devastating 2023 fire that destroyed much of Lahaina, another wildfire struck the same area. This footage was filmed with my iPhone on August 4, 2025, just behind our vacation rental in Ka’anapali. It shows how close and intense the fire was — a terrifying reminder of how vulnerable this community still is.

We were in the pool when we noticed smoke and heared fire trucks. When we got out, we saw flames across the road. We packed our things as fast as we could and fled in our car. These clips were taken as we drove away. They have not been shared on any platform or social media. We found out later that it burned down 33 acres of land. Saw that on the website
“ Mauinow” On one of my video’s you can also see the helicopters getting water from the sea.

We’re a family of five — Rick, Petra, Jasmijn (20), Tess (27), and her girlfriend Samilia (27).
Our thoughts are with the people of Lahaina and everyone impacted by this new fire. This community has already been through so much.
