PEOPLE MOURNINGGAZA, PALESTINE - SEPT. 1, 2025: At least 25 Palestinians were killed in Israeli army attacks on the northern Gaza Strip, including those who were waiting to receive humanitarian aid in the Zikim area. Funeral prayers were held at the garden of Al-Shifa Hospital, for the Palestinians who were killed in Israeli attacks. Palestinians who lost their relatives experienced great sorrow. Since March 2, Israeli authorities have completely closed all Gaza border crossings, pushing the territory’s 2.4 million population into famine. A UN-backed food security assessment has already confirmed famine in northern Gaza and expects it to spread further south by the end of September. The Israeli army, which resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip on March 18 after breaking the ceasefire that took hold in January, has killed more than 63,000 people in Gaza since October 2023. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
