Los Angeles, United States - September 05, 2025 09/05/2025 12:44 pm GMT-0700 SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – Resources responded to a reported vegetation fire with smoke showing on camera. The fire was initially three acres in size and moving uphill on a ridge at a moderate rate of spread, per the first-arriving unit. No structures were threatened at that time. This fire has been dubbed the “Cottonwood Fire.” An additional two fixed-wing aircraft, two type 3 engines, and two hand crews were requested by incident command. The fire is at 20 acres with a potential for 100 acres, per operations. Resources are making good progress, and no structures are threatened.
