A woman shared how she travelled to THREE countries in one day for just £33 - without taking any flights.

Chyna Brown, 23, travelled solo from London, UK, to Basel, Switzerland, and due to its close proximity to the borders of Germany and France she was able to country hop into all three countries - in the space of less than 24 hours.

Travelling from London Gatwick to Basel-Mulhoise-Frieburg on a one hour 40-minute flight, Chyna then bought a tram ticket for just 10.70 CHF (£9.93) and spent May 30 exploring all three countries.

She walked along the Rhine river in Switzerland before catching a 12-minute tram to Weil am Rhein Dreliänderbrücke in Germany where she visited the Three Countries Bridge - which tourists can see all three nations from.

Chyna then walked over the bridge to Huningue in France where she saw "traditional" French bistros serving escargot."

She spent £33.17 overall on her day and said it was "quite a walkable city". "

Chyna, a social media manager, from Hampshire, said: "I flew into Basel Airport which was actually in France but I was staying in Switzerland."

"When I was researching things to do there I came across it on TikTok and online and thought it looked fun and a good way to experience different cultures. "

"I got the number eight tram from Feldbergstrasse towards Bahnhof which takes you into Germany essentially."

"As soon as you step off into Germany and walk over to France there are such distinct differences with the architecture - you know you're in a different country."

"It looks completely different which is really nice." "

Chyna was pet sitting through an app called TrustedHousesitters – where people can find house and pet sitters worldwide - while in Basel and so didn't pay for her accommodation on her first ever solo trip.

She spent her early afternoon in Switzerland and walked around the shopping district, city hall and old town.

She said: "I walked along the Rhine river - it was a beautiful sunny day so people were sat along the river and some were in little boats."

"I then took a 12-minute tram from Feldbergstrasse to Weil am Rhein Dreliänderbrücke."

"It takes you across the border and before it stops border control came on to check everyone's passports and ID."

"I didn't have my passport on me I had my driver's licence - I didn't think about it I don't know why I should have had it on me. "

"The guy said it wasn't a valid ID in Germany so next time to bring it."

"I walked to the three countries bridge - Dreiländerbrücke - which crosses the Rhine river and it connects that German town with the French village Huningue."

"You can see all three countries from that bridge."

"Pricing wise I've seen videos that some people drive 10 minutes to Germany for food shopping at Aldi because it's cheaper."

Chyna spent her afternoon in France just "walking around". "

She said: "There's not much in the French village but there's some restaurants, bakeries and cafes. It's a really pretty town."

"There's such distinct differences so it doesn't feel like you were just in Germany 10 minutes before."

"It had very traditional French bistros and brasseries."

"You can get gratin dauphinois, bouchées à la reine, escargots and crêpes. "

"Even though Basel borders both countries, there's more of a German influence - they speak Swiss German but English is widely spoken and understood too -so it was refreshing." "

Chyna got back to her accommodation around 6.30pm after her busy day and would recommend to others "if they want to have a unique experience its different to do and cool to say you've done that as well". "
