UK: Fire Forces Evacuation, Delays Flights at London Stansted Airport
A small fire broke out at the Escape Lounge in London Stansted Airport at 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, producing smoke that forced the temporary closure of the security area and the evacuation of nearby passengers. The fire was quickly extinguished, and no injuries were reported. Security reopened around 6 a.m., but significant delays occurred as passengers were unable to reach their flights on time.
