Zelenskyy stated he informed Sanchez about the current situation on the battlefield and in peace efforts. He accused Russia of continuing "to reject peace initiatives and is doing everything to prolong the war."

According to the Ukrainian president, the Spanish prime minister emphasized the critical need to maintain unity between Europe and the United States and to continue working within the "coalition of the willing" to achieve peace.

The leaders also discussed Ukraine's accession negotiations with the EU. Zelenskyy said he expects the "simultaneous opening of the first negotiation cluster in the near future, together with Moldova," and thanked Sanchez for Spain's continued political support for Ukraine's bid.
