VARIOUS OF MUSLIM DEMONSTRATORS GATHERING TO PROTEST AGAINST ISRAELI ACTIONS ON GAZA, HOLDING BANNERS AND FLAGS, MARCHING WITH SYMBOLIC BABY COFFINS, LISTENING TO SPEECHES AND APPLAUDING ROME, ITALY - SEPT. 26: Muslims in Italy’s capital marched on Friday, Sept. 26, after Friday prayers to call for an end to Israel’s ongoing actions in Gaza, gathering at Vittorio Square before proceeding through central Rome. Worshippers first performed Friday prayers and prayed for Palestine before beginning the march. Some demonstrators carried symbolic baby coffins wrapped in shrouds and held signs reading “Muslims will not remain silent,” “Stop the genocide,” “Justice for Palestine,” “Terrorist Israel,” “Stop arming Israel,” and “No justice for Palestine, no peace.” The group chanted “Free Palestine” slogans during the march, which ended peacefully in front of Sapienza University. The Israeli army has killed more than 65,500 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza since October 2023. Months of air and ground assaults have left Gaza largely uninhabitable, pushing its population into famine and disease.
