Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim joined local activists, including participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla, delivering speeches that condemned Israel’s blockade and called for urgent international action. Waving Palestinian flags and holding banners, attendees expressed unwavering support for Gaza, calling for an end to the siege and offering prayers for its people. The Israeli army has killed over 67,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in Gaza following a cross-border attack by Hamas on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. The relentless bombardment has rendered the enclave all but uninhabitable and led to starvation and the proliferation of disease.
