VARIOUS OF DISPLACED PEOPLE’S TENTS WITH SMOKE RISING FROM MULTIPLE LOCATIONS IN THE BACKGROUND GAZA, PALESTINE - OCTOBER 9, 2025: Despite the announcement of a ceasefire and hostage-release agreement in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces continued their genocidal attacks on Thursday, striking multiple areas across the besieged enclave. Footage from the ground showed thick plumes of smoke billowing over residential neighborhoods following a series of heavy Israeli bombardments. On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had signed off on the first phase of the US-proposed Gaza deal. The 20-point plan, first announced on Sept. 29, includes the release of all Israeli captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners, a ceasefire, the disarmament of Hamas, and the rebuilding of Gaza. Since October 2023, Israeli genocide has killed nearly 67,200 Palestinians in the enclave, most of them women and children. The relentless bombardment has left Gaza largely uninhabitable, leading to widespread starvation and disease.
