Parish Council's Christmas lights at risk due to St George Flags in Kent, UK

A parish council's annual Christmas Lights display has been put at risk by St George Flags on lamp posts in Kent, UK (November 11).

Harrietsham Parish Council near Maidstone has permission to install lights on lamp posts from Kent County Council (KCC), but only if flags are removed first.

However, the parish council does not believe it has the authority or funds to remove the flags safely from the KCC's lamp posts and the general policy of reform-lead Kent Council is to leave flags on lamp posts flying.

Harrietsham Parish Council has told residents that this means the Christmas decorations might not go up this year.
