The 80-year-old British actress will be presented with the lifetime achievement award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the movie industry in January 2026. Instead of receiving the honour during the main Golden Globes ceremony, Mirren will be bestowed the award during a new primetime special titled Golden Eve on 8 January. Golden Eve will feature career retrospectives, never-before-seen footage and in-depth interviews with the recipients of the two special awards - the Cecil B. Mille Award and the Carol Burnett Award.
