Established in 1984 in the Maarrat al-Numan district, the hospital was once regarded as one of the most important medical centers in the region.
The hospital served tens of thousands of people annually in various departments, including emergency care, surgery, obstetrics, and pediatrics.
The facility was rendered inoperable following intensified airstrikes by regime forces during the conflict.
Shortages of fuel and medical supplies at the time also caused severe disruptions in critical units, leading to the deaths of several patients, including infants in incubators.
