A massive, perfectly shaped shelf cloud, the gust front of a huge haboob and dust storm mixed with a collapsing thunderstorm, charges in at remarkable speed from the west and northwest. The clip opens with the dark wall of the shelf already towering over the scene, its underside lit by the setting sun in unsettling shades of gray and blue. Within seconds, a huge wall of orange brown dust erupts upward along the leading edge and surges forward like a tidal wave, completely swallowing the landscape. The dust front races in so fast it wipes out the mountains and city lights almost at once, turning daylight into an apocalyptic twilight. On the audio, strong wind gusts can be heard slamming into the camera position as the storm finally arrives.
