Turtle startled while standing on basking log in Frederick, Maryland, USA
On November 12, 2025, in Frederick, Maryland, USA, @nicolassheridan0 shared a funny video of an Ouachita map turtle. In the video, the author walks into the room and finds the turtle standing on its basking log. As soon as a small noise is made, the turtle becomes startled and quickly swims into the water. According to the author, the turtle usually acts as if it dislikes the platform, making this moment unusual because it was finally caught standing on it.
