A nine-year-old boy’s first big catch has gone viral after his father captured the hilarious moment on video. The clip, posted to Instagram by Jenna Cottrell (@jennacottrell_), has now reached 885,000 views.

Jenna explained she had stayed home with their youngest son while her husband took their eldest fishing at a family farm. She asked him to send a video if their son caught a fish—and hours later, she received footage that left her laughing until she cried.

On this day, my husband took my (9 year old) son fishing for the day at a farm they regularly hunt and fish at here in Kentucky. I had decided to stay home with my youngest son. I told my husband to send me a video if my son catches a fish, since I couldn’t attend. This is the video that was sent to me hours later and needless to say I laughed until I cried when I saw it. It’s such a sweet (yet hilarious) video of my (then) 9 year old son catching his first big large mouth bass. My son absolutely loves fishing so catching this moment on video is amazing. My husband was trying his hardest to contain his excitement while trying to instruct my son how to keep the fish on the line. My son seems to stay a little more calm than his dad, but you will also hear his excitement in the background of the video.
