GIZA, EGYPT - NOV. 28: A fire broke out on the set of a television production at Studio Misr in Giza on Friday, Nov. 28, with officials confirming the historic studio complex sustained no structural or technical damage.
The blaze started at approximately 1:30 p.m. local time in an external, temporary set for the series "El King" located in the Haram area of Maryouteya, according to local media reports.
Civil Defense forces were immediately dispatched to the scene upon notification and succeeded in fully containing the fire within a short period.
In an official statement, Dr. Ahmed Hassan Ragab, the Executive Managing Director of the Cultural and Cinematic Assets Management Company, sought to reassure the public. He confirmed that the flames were limited to a section of the temporary wooden set and were extinguished without causing any human casualties.
Dr. Ragab emphasized that the studio's main buildings, sound stages, and production facilities were completely unaffected. He affirmed that "Studio Misr is operating at full capacity and was not affected in any way."
An investigation into the cause of the fire is likely underway. Studio Misr, a cornerstone of Egyptian cinema, continues its normal operations.
