2. PROTESTER GIVING SPEECH TBILISI, GEORGIA - NOV. 28: A pro-European Union (EU) demonstration was held in Tbilisi on Friday, Nov. 28, marking the one-year anniversary of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s decision to suspend the country’s EU accession negotiations for four years.

Thousands of demonstrators gathered at various points in the capital late in the evening before marching to the Parliament Building, carrying the flags of Georgia, the EU, the US, and Ukraine while chanting anti-government slogans.

Blocking traffic on Shota Rustaveli Avenue in front of the parliament, demonstrators urged the Tbilisi administration to take effective steps toward the country's EU integration process.

Representatives of several opposition parties speaking at the protest demanded the release of activists who were detained and prosecuted during last year's pro-EU demonstrations.
