6. MARRAKECH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL DIRECTOR MELITA TOSCAN DU PLANTIER SPEAKING TO CAMERA MARRAKECH, MOROCCO - NOV. 28, 2025: The 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival, considered one of Africa’s most prominent cinema events, opened Friday, Nov. 28, in Marrakech, Morocco.
The festival, which will run until Dec. 6, is recognized as a major platform for African and international filmmakers. This year’s edition brings together well-known figures from the world of cinema, including American actress Jodie Foster, Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, Moroccan actress Rawia, and Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy, among many others.
Held under the patronage of Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, the festival has been organized annually since 2011.
Awards will be presented in several categories, including Best Film, Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Actor.
