Fifa Introduces £45 Ticket Tier For 2026 World Cup After Pricing Backlash. World football’s governing body has announced a limited number of £45 tickets for all 104 matches, describing them as a more affordable option for “loyal supporters” of teams that qualify. The new price point — around $60 — will apply to 10% of tickets allocated to each national football association. For England and Scotland, that means roughly 400 tickets at £45 for group-stage matches. A Fifa official says the decision followed feedback and was agreed unanimously. UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer welcomed the move but urged Fifa to go further, warning that the World Cup risks losing touch with genuine supporters. Under the previous pricing structure, fans could have faced costs exceeding £5,000 to follow England to the final. Supporters’ groups remain sceptical. The Football Supporters’ Association labelled the change a “hollow gesture” while Football Supporters Europe said the revisions still fall short. The 2026 World Cup will be hosted across Canada, Mexico and the United States.
