“I go to the fields every day at nine, ten, eleven o’clock. Today, as I was walking down from here, before reaching the flat area below, I heard a sound — a whirr, whirr, whirr kind of noise. I looked around, over there, and I saw this flying object. I realized it was going to crash. I said it wouldn’t make it past that tree, and indeed, as I was watching, it fell right there.”
KOCAELI, TÜRKİYE - DEC. 19: A drone believed to be a Russian-made Orlan-10 reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was found on Friday in Türkiye's northwestern Kocaeli province, the Turkish Interior Ministry said.
The drone was found in the Cubuklubala neighborhood of Kocaeli’s Izmit district, the ministry stated on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
The investigations are ongoing, it added.
This comes after the Turkish National Defense Ministry said Monday that an out-of-control drone approaching Turkish airspace over the Black Sea was shot down in a secure area "in order to prevent any potential harm."
