Cleveland, United States - November 27, 2025 The Ohio State Highway Patrol has issued a stark warning about the dangers of rapidly changing winter weather after releasing body camera footage showing hazardous conditions on I-71 in Mansfield. The video, recorded in November, captures a trooper responding to a car that slid off the highway. Shortly after, a semi loses control on a bridge, colliding with the guardrail, followed by a pickup truck sliding off in the same area. The Ohio Department of Transportation cautions drivers that Monday could bring dangerous conditions due to strong winds and fast-falling snow. “Your visibility is going to be reduced while you're behind the wheel,” said ODOT spokesman Ray Marsch. “Mile by mile, minute by minute, road conditions can change.” Sunday’s rain prevented crews from pre-treating roads, as any salt would have been washed away. Instead, ODOT will deploy approximately 300 trucks across northeast Ohio beginning at midnight, working 12-hour shifts until the storm passes. “When snow is coming down at more than an inch an hour, which is currently being forecasted, our goal is to make these roads passable, not perfect,” Marsch said. He urged drivers to slow down, take extra care on bridges and overpasses, which freeze first, and allow plenty of time for travel. “Don't be in a rush while you're traveling tomorrow morning on your commute,” he added.
