Various of national flags of Venezuela Storyline Amid growing regional concerns, voices across Mexico have been raised to firmly oppose any potential military intervention by the United States in Venezuela. In the early hours of Saturday, U.S. military forces carried out attacks and bombings in Caracas and other parts of Venezuela and took Maduro and his wife by force. In street interviews conducted by China Central Television Station (CCTV) in Mexico city, many residents said that such military action is unjust and violates international law and the norms governing international relations. "I believe the political objective behind the U.S. actions toward Venezuela is to control its oil resources, which is unjust. Moreover, any U.S. military action against a sovereign state should seek solutions within the United Nations framework. Therefore, I cannot agree with the U.S. approach," said Amelia, a Mexican resident. "I oppose the U.S. attack on Venezuela, which is a violation of the international order and an intrusion into a sovereign country. I think the U.S. military intervention should be condemned, which tramples on the international consensus of mutual respect among countries and violates the norms of international relations," said Isaias, another resident. Expressing disapproval and alarm, residents reject the U.S. action and voice fears over its implications. "It is wrong for any country to interfere in the internal affairs of another country unilaterally and forcibly, so it is unacceptable for the U.S. to take unilateral military action against Venezuela. It is necessary to respect the sovereignty of other countries," said Julio, a local resident. "It is wrong to invade a sovereign country militarily. "I don't agree with the United States' actions. The American military attack caused innocent Venezuelan deaths. I cannot accept what they have done," said Carranza, another resident.
