The Wellington Rooms in Liverpool, built 1815-16 by Edmund Aikin, began as a grand neoclassical assembly hall for Liverpool's high society's balls and events, becoming a social hub before closing in 1922. It later served as the Embassy Club, Rodney Youth Centre, and famously as the Liverpool Irish Centre (1965-1997).
