1. VARIOUS OF DRONE SHOTS OF MILITARY CONVOY OF SYRIAN ARMY ENTERING RAQQA CITY CENTER RAQQA, SYRIA - JAN. 18: Syrian Army units started moving into the Raqqa city center on Sunday (18), where local people and tribal forces had largely regained control from the YPG/SDF terrorist organization, according to Anadolu sources.

While the YPG/SDF presence in the city center has been largely eliminated, security checkpoints and public buildings have come under official control.

Interior Ministry spokesman Nour al-Din al-Baba told Syria’s Al-Ikhbariyye channel that the situation in Raqqa is very positive and that the Syrian Army has carried out its duties effectively.

He added that deployments across the city are expected to be completed within a few hours, and new police stations and security centers will soon be opened.

Before the developments in Raqqa, a similar uprising in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor province had resulted in most areas under YPG/SDF control being liberated, including the Omar oil field and the Kuniko natural gas field.
