Plans by Europe's soccer elite to form a breakaway Super League have convulsed the sporting world. Chelsea and Manchester City were first to withdraw their support for the controversial plan following a huge backlash, quickly followed by the other English Premier League clupbs involved, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and Manchester United; Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan of Italy's Serie A and Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in Spain's La Liga are the other teams involved.

Chelsea fans reacted with joy outside the club's stadium Stamford Bridge as news broke that they were withdrawing from the proposed European Super League.
