Playful Coyote Pup - 5/30/15
This coyote pup was the last one of 8 siblings still hanging out in this spot. His mama was in the process of relocating her family to a new den site and hunting area. She had been keeping them all in the little culvert you can see him go sit beside. This made it handy to watch them as that culvert was right under a lane near my house so I could sit quietly inside my van and watch them without disturbing them at all. When I checked a few hours later, she had came back for him and as I saw quite a few young adult coyotes over the following months, I assume most of them made it into adulthood. Like most baby things this little one is pretty amazing to watch as he explores the world!
