A video has surfaced from Italy of a man crashing his paraglider as he attempts to take off.

Captured last month near Bolzano, the helmet camera video shows the extreme sports enthusiast trying to get the wind to fill the paraglider.

Suddenly a gust picks him up and blows him off the hill in the wrong direction.

He slides down the snowy face of the slope at high speed but eventually comes to a stop.

He was uninjured in the incident.

"Not the best performance this day, but a good lesson for me," the filmer wrote online.

How not to start a paraglider. Learned my own maximum of wind speed at the take-off this day. Actually I already wanted to pack everything and go down by feet, but then the wind gusts started the action... I decided to give it a try, but was blown back over the hill instead of starting into the other direction. Yes, not the best performance from my side this day, but a good lesson for me. More groundhandling and canopy control training for this wind strengths will definitely help.
