A dramatic video has emerged of a biker falling off a cliff during a mountainous ride.

The footage, shot last year at Mt. Buller, Victoria, Australia, captures the moment the rider lost control of his bike and fell from a few metres high.

"[There was] too much weight on the motorcycle and the front wheel hit a rock and was sent in the wrong direction," the biker explained.

"I tried to apply throttle to correct my path again, but accelerated off the side of the cliff instead."

"I grabbed a small tree while falling, which stopped me from falling further, The bike and luggage were fine. I was not hurt at all," he added.

What happened? = I crashed my motorcycle off the side of a cliff
Who was involved? = only me. Two other friends helped pull the motorcycle back onto the track

Why did it happen? = Riding on a rocky track with a heavy motorcycle and luggage. I lost control and had little warning before throwing it from the cliff
