My oldest son is stationed in North Carolina and didn't think he was going to be able to come home for his little brothers 8th grade graduation ceremony. But he was able to get a waiver to allow him to. So when he found out he called me (mother) and asked what I thought about him surprising his brother and the rest of the family. He told me his thoughts on contacting his brothers school principal to see if it could be arranged to hand his certificate of promotion to his brother. I told him I thought it would be super cool! So he contacted the schools principal who thought it was a great idea and then the secret keeping commenced.... for about a month! These two brothers share a close and special bond.
