A terrifying video from South Africa of a huge bull elephant shunting an open safari jeep with its head inches away from a tourist.

In the clip, which was filmed in Kruger National Park in March 2017, the elephant with impressive tusks walks right up to the vehicle, lowers its head and gives the jeep a shove.

As the elephant walks off, it brushes agains the vehicle and the terrified tourist breathes a sigh of relief.

The filmer wrote online: "While on a game drive at Kruger National Park, a herd of elephant decided to stop and block the road. We were parked for about 10 minutes and our driver was explaining that the male elephants were after one specific female elephant.

"The herd began to move past the truck and the biggest of the male elephants decided to let us know who was boss. He looked directly at the car and began to walk towards it. He gave the truck a push and brushed against it as he walked away. I was a bit scared but I was happier to see him from really close up. I am glad he only brushed by and didn't do any damage!"
