Beautiful solar halo phenomenon
Just this morning conditions was perfect out to capture a solar halo which appeared in the sky's over Abbeylands, Ballyshannon, Donegal, Ireland.The ring around the sun is caused by the refraction of sunlight from ice crystals in the upper atmosphere. The shape of the ice crystals results in a focusing of the light into a ring.
