Melting ice floes are seen in Mad River in Moretown, Vermont on January 12 after temperatures warmed following the recent cold snap.

Writes the filmer: "I was out in my car when I saw the ice dam let go in Waitsfield, Vermont. I immediately headed to my home in Moretown to check for flooding. When I got home I noticed the waters rising. And I was able to record the initial ice flow."

The weather has been cold rather very cold in the below zero to close to -30 Fahrenheit for about a week before the temperature rose to 60. Heavy rains fell for a few hours melting a lot of the Mountain snows. Therefore overflowing the tributaries and Mountain Streams to Mad River.
