Canute Road Level Crossing 29/08/14

I was on my way to my volunteer job at the British Heart Foundation in Southampton. I had looked on the website I use to find train times and noted that a train was due to depart Southampton Eastern Docks, so I decided to go and see it at Canute Road level Crossing. Unfortunately I was a minute too late and the crossing activated just as I was walking down the road. I turned on my video camera and noticed that, as I was walking towards the crossing, the red First bus had stopped on the crossing with it's rear wheel on the tracks. There is a set of traffic lights near the crossing, and the traffic was queuing because they were on red. The bus was pulled forward as much as possible but it still was not clear as the train started approaching the crossing, blowing it's horn. The bus stayed in it's position because the traffic lights at the junction were still red. This meant the train had to stop on the crossing to avoid hitting the bus. Shortly after this the lights at the junction turned green and the bus was able to move, letting the train go.
