Linden becomes first American woman to win Boston Marathon in 33 years
“Desiree Linden splashed her way through icy rain and a near-gale headwind to win the Boston Marathon on Monday, the first victory for an American woman since 1985,” The Associated Press reported.
A filmer captured Linden in the lead at the 25.5 mile mark of the Boston Marathon as she raced towards victory.
“She is the first American woman in 33 years to win the race despite the treacherous weather conditions,” the filmer wrote.
