Shocking State of Southend Beach Left Covered in Litter After a Busy Bank Holiday
Thousands of day-trippers visited Southend seafront in Essex yesterday, bringing a much needed boost to the seafront economy.
However after they went home, the beach was revealed to have been left in a state that "resembled a waste landfill".
The beach cleaning team worked hard into the night to clean up what they could but had to return at 5.30am this morning to finish clearing away the litter from the beach.
