A woman in the Philippines treated this relaxed-looking monkey to a loving head massage.

The clip, filmed at the end of May on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines, shows the monkey with her eyes closed and looking like she is in bliss as she gets stroked by filmer Alexis Medran.

It appears to be a Philippine long-tailed macaque.

“My relatives keep this monkey as a pet. Since their place is near forests, locals from that place catch them and sell them to people.

“My Auntie accidentally saw those locals selling these monkeys and bought it from them (because) she had pity for the monkey, being in a cage looking like they are hungry and afraid."

This video was taken in Mindanao, Philippines. The mother monkey on this video was not nearly on being tamed but because of I have her kid on my side, she have no choice but to get close to me, and go get her kid. But as soon as she sat my lap i slowly cares his back carefully trying not to scared her and then eventually she just lay on my lap and let me touch her face and massage it!

Good day! This was filmed during our vacation on my relatives place which is in Mindanao specifically at Sta. Josefa Aurora. I really don't know what kind of monkey this is but, what I know is that my relatives keep this monkey as a pet. Since their place is near forests it was expected that monkeys around the area are visible and locals from that place catched them and sell them to people. My auntie accidentally saw those locals who are selling these monkeys and she bought it from then since she pity the monkey being in a caged looking like they are hungry and afraid. The monkey on the video is Sophia and she is really aloof from people and even my auntie (the one who bought it) can't even touch nor go near her. But Miracle happend on that day when she let me touch and even massage her.
