Fast-moving wildfire breaks out in Spokane, Washington

A new wildfire in Spokane, Washington, broke out on July 17, engulfing up to 75 acres and prompting evacuations in the area.

Fire crews responded to the blaze at East Upriver at around 4:30 pm, according to local media, arriving with air tankers and scoopers to douse river water on the flames.

Several structures were damaged by the blaze rapidly burning to the southeast, and authorities have issued level 2 and 3 evacuations for residents.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
