Sheep Rescued From Quicksand

Buy video

A heartwarming video has emerged of a sheep being rescued from quicksand in France.

The footage, captured earlier this month, shows two hikers digging in the sand to free the trapped animal shortly before the tide came in at Mont Saint-Michel bay.

The salt marshes in the bay are used to breed sheep and produce agneau de pré-salé (salt meadow lamb) but the quicksands created by the tides can be deadly for the herds.

The rescue took ten minutes in total so the footage has been sped up in places for ease of viewing.
