The one handed piano sonata for busy parents
A heartwarming video has emerged of a musician playing a piano sonata with one hand while holding his new-born baby with the other.
Composer and sound designer, Daniel Montgomery from Dawsonville, Georgia, USA composed his ‘Sonata for One Hand Piano’ so he could continue working while caring for his young son.
“When my first child was born I was very happy, but I found it frustrating that I could no longer play the piano during the many nap times of baby during the day, and when the baby was awake, it would require my attention for comfort” Daniel later wrote online.
“So I made the compromise of composing a piece of music that can be played with one hand while holding the baby at the same time. And it seems as if he liked it!”
