A man was restrained using sellotape onboard a Russian Ural Air flight after he allegedly assaulted cabin crew and threatened to blow up the plane.

Footage captured on the flight from Moscow to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on August 29 shows the man, reportedly a 25-year-old Tajik citizen, yelling down the walkway at fellow travellers.

An argument between a passenger and the man reportedly escalated and came to blows, leaving a cabin crew member who tried to intervene with facial injuries.

The man then allegedly threatened to use an explosive device.

Passengers and crew took temporary measures to resolve the situation by using clear tape to tie the man’s hands and feet.

The flight was re-directed back to Zhukovsky Airport, where the man was arrested by awaiting police.

He is currently being held and is reportedly refusing to cooperate with police.
