Visitors to a fast-food restaurant were left terrified by a huge swarm of BEES nesting under the sign.

Thousands of the insects could be seen gatheirng in a thick nest under the McDonald's sign in in General Trias, Cavite, the Philippines, on October 12.

Onlooker Carlos Hinacay said: ''Unbelievable. Is this a sign of the end of days? Isn't this a safety concern? There were too many bees around the entrance.''

Father-of-one Carlos joked that the ''disciples of Jollibee'' - a rival fast food outlet in the country- were advancing.

The musician said that after he picked up his meal he left the area, with the bees still buzzing around the sign.

McDonalds Philippines spokesman Gen Valencia: ''We have not received report from the branch about the bees, but we will coordinate with them the possible steps as soon as possible like pest control.

''Usually, matters such as maintenance are taken care of by the branch managers immediately.''
