Fast-moving brush fire breaks out near Fontana, California

A fire broke out near the intersection of Sierra and Riverside avenues in Fontana, California, on November 13, spreading quickly and covering 20 acres within minutes.

Dubbed the Sierra Fire, authorities responded to the scene shortly after 10 pm.

Flames were burning medium-to-heavy fuel with a rapid rate of spread, fire officials said, burning around 15 acres of land.

Residents were seen packing their vehicles, though no official evacuation orders were immediately announced. Nearby traffic also appeared to build up along Locust Avenue as homeowners attempted to flee the area.
