A video has emerged of police officers arresting an 'Occupy Democracy' protester in Parliament Square, London UK on Saturday.

The video, captured by Samuel Ashdown who was also at the protest, shows a man being handcuffed and taken over to a police van, while protesters challenge the reasoning behind the arrest.

Ashdown wrote online, "none of the arresting officers seemed to know why he was being arrested and at one point told the legal observer that he should ‘ask the park warden’”.

The protest began on Friday night, and organisers are planning to remain in Parliament Square for another week.

According to its website, the goal of the Occupy Democracy protest is to "direct the energy from current single-issue struggles into a critical mass that can radically challenge the corrupt and unrepresentative system”.
