This bear has developed a taste for the oil used to light lamps outside a temple in India.

Security camera footage has shown that the animal regularly visits the temple in Coonoor, Tamil Nadu in the dead of night try to wet his whistle with the lamp fuel.

After watching the bear's antics on CCTV, temple officials decided to lock the doors so that it couldn't get to its favourite tipple.

This clip shows the frustrated bear pushing the locked doors before wandering off back to the forest.

It frequents the temple at Coonoor district in South India at nights, when it is deserted, and returns after sipping oil from the lamps, which have been put out.

After watching the bears’ antics on CCTV, temple officials decided to lock up the door recently.

On January 12, the bear visited again the temple only to find the doors locked.

It desperately tried to push the doors open a few times. It then roamed around the temple looking for the elusivese liquid.

An hour later, bear left the temple and returned to the forest.
