Footage shows the deserted Marvel Experience theme park in Bangkok during its last day of operations following eight unsuccessful months.

The Marvel-themed entertainment park with characters including Spiderman, Superman and Batman, opened to great fanfare in June 2018. It was the only Marvel park in South East Asia.

But following low ticket sales, poor feedback and price complaints - 950THB ($30) for a ticket - the 20,000sq metre park which cost 1 billion Thai baht ($32M) to build, announced its closure.

Footage captured today (January 29) shows how few people have been visiting the park and even with the last ever chance to see it, crowds failed to turn up.

Thai residents slammed the park for its high prices and ''low quality'' of sculptures.

Nantapop Tiemkum wrote: ''Think about the 320 baht daily wage of Thais when you set the ticket prices. I’m a true Marvel fan, and I can’t make myself buy a ticket to set foot in that place. Also, the sculptures look like they came from a temple fair.''

Prachuap Ucchin of Demeter Corp. PCL, which owns 37.5 percent of the park, wrote in a filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that a majority of shareholders had voted to shut the park.
